Where:
At intersections where roads from three or four directions meet.

Purpose:
To bring traffic approaching from all directions to a complete stop, ensuring that all drivers have an equal opportunity to proceed safely through the intersection.

Action:
Bring your vehicle to a complete standstill behind the stop line.
If there is no stop line, stop with the front of your vehicle in line with the stop sign.
Look in all directions for approaching vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians before proceeding.
Proceed only when it is safe to do so.
When multiple vehicles arrive at the intersection, the vehicle that stopped first has the right of way and may move off first.
If two or more vehicles arrive at the same time, the driver on the right-hand side usually proceeds first (unless traffic officers or road markings indicate otherwise).
