Where:
Especially on rural or remote roads, near game reserves, forests, or areas where wildlife commonly roam or migrate across roads.
Purpose:
To warn the driver that wild animals may be on or near the road.
These animals could suddenly cross the roadway, creating a potential hazard, particularly at night or during early morning and evening hours when visibility is reduced and animal movement is more frequent.
Action:
Slow down and remain alert for the next 2 km (or as indicated on supplementary signs).
Watch the sides of the road carefully for any movement.
Use headlights appropriately to improve visibility at night, and avoid swerving suddenly if an animal crosses your path, rather, brake firmly and keep control of the vehicle.
