Understanding the U-Turn Prohibited Sign

U-Turn Prohibited

Where: Displayed on a public road either before or on the far side of an intersection.

Purpose: To prohibit vehicles from making a U-turn, that is, turning around to travel in the opposite direction. This helps prevent accidents and ensures smooth traffic flow, especially in busy or hazardous areas such as intersections, bends, or narrow roads.

Action Required by Driver: Do not turn your vehicle around so that it faces the opposite direction. Continue driving until you reach a point where a U-turn is legally and safely permitted.
