Where: At obstructions on the road, such as traffic islands, roadworks, medians, or barriers. Only one of these signs will be displayed at a time, indicating the direction in which you must pass.
Purpose: To direct traffic safely around an obstruction. It ensures an orderly flow of vehicles and prevents collisions with the obstruction, helping maintain lane discipline and providing clear guidance to drivers approaching the hazard.
Action Required by Driver: Pass the obstruction on the side indicated by the sign (left or right), slowing down as you approach it to maintain control and avoid accidents.
- Watch for others — be alert for oncoming traffic, pedestrians, or other vehicles maneuvering around the same obstruction.
- Never pass on the wrong side — doing so could lead to collisions or traffic violations.
